August 2008 - Korean Culture Camp

Well, before the summer ended there was time for one more special event. It was the annual culture summer camp run by the Korean Canadian Children's Association at a camp north of Toronto. These are really great people!!! The weekend is full of activities and lots of good Korean food. The best part though is that it is a great opportunity for us to see our friends and meet new ones. Mommy and Daddy like this too!

Here Jin is with her new friend Nicholas; and old friend Alex in the background.

We take our old tent (Daddy said his Mom and Dad bought it when he was a kid!) and camp with our friends. This year the wind was just right so we could fly kites - this is something Koreans often do on special holidays. I think Daddy's kite was the highest, except for the one that was lost and floated away.

We learned how to make boo chim - a kind of Korean potato pancake. It was hot work. We even won a prize!

The best food though was served up every meal by the Korean volunteers. Mmmmm good!

We had a great time. Thank you to all the organizers and volunteers.
Love,
J & L
